Kenchii Level distinction:
LEVEL 1
These are entry level shears, made from Japanese Stainless Steel. These have good hardness, corrosion resistance and is able to keep a good edge.
Rockwell hardness: 54-55
LEVEL 2
Made from high carbon Japanese Stainless Steel with great corrosion resistance, good strength and the ability to obtain and keep an excellent edge.
Rockwell hardness: 55-57
LEVEL 3
Premium Japanese Stainless Steel with excellent corrosion resistance. Molybdenum alloy is added to increase toughness and strength. After treatment awesome hardness and wear resistance.
Rockwell hardness: 58-60
LEVEL 4
A truly high end top of the line metal mixed with pure base cobalt and vanadium for super strength and durability.
Rockwell hardness: 60-62.
